Metagigs Professional Exchange Program Terms of Use

The Metagigs Professional Exchange Program ("MPEX") allows eligible Platform Professionals to redeem their earned MetaCrowns ("Earned Crowns") for cash. Participation in MPEX requires significant time, effort, skill, and consistent performance. Even then, there is no guarantee of earning money.
These MPEX Terms are part of the Metagigs Terms of Use, and all capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings set forth in the Terms of Use.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By participating in MPEX, you agree to these MPEX Terms and the Metagigs Terms of Use, including the Community Standards and Privacy and Cookie Policy. You must agree to the Terms of Use, which include these MPEX Terms, to participate in MPEX.
2. Eligibility
Eligibility to participate in MPEX is determined by Metagigs. Requirements may be updated at any time by updating these MPEX Terms. To participate, you must meet all of the following minimum requirements:
a) Be at least 18 years of age;
b) Have an active Metagigs Platform Professional account in good standing;
c) Have a Metagigs-verified email address;
d) Have an active account with Metagigs' designated payout provider (currently Payoneer), including completion of Payoneer's identity verification (KYC) process;
e) Have an IRS Form W-9 (for U.S. taxpayers) or Form W-8BEN (for non-U.S. taxpayers) on file with the payout provider;
f) Comply with the Ongoing Requirements (described in Section 7 below); and
g) Be in full compliance with the Metagigs Terms of Use, including these MPEX Terms and the Community Standards. By way of example, the following will disqualify you from MPEX: scamming, phishing, false advertising, attempting to exchange Earned Crowns for real currency other than through MPEX, and any illegal or unethical activities.
3. Eligible Earned Crowns
Metagigs determines the amount you are eligible to redeem by totaling Earned Crowns over the lifetime of your account and subtracting amounts previously paid out through MPEX and any Earned Crowns spent on or through the Services.
Only MetaCrowns earned through legitimate platform activity in compliance with the Terms of Use are eligible for redemption. Eligible Earned Crowns include those earned from:
- Successful completion of Sessions as a Platform Professional
- Community Hub revenue sharing (if applicable)
- Referring users to the Platform
- Other platform activities as Metagigs may introduce
MetaCrowns are not transferable. MetaCrowns acquired through any violation of the Terms of Use are not eligible for redemption and may be removed from your account.
4. Redemption
a) Exchange Rate
The current exchange rate for MPEX redemption is $0.001 USD per Earned Crown. Metagigs may adjust this rate at any time by updating these MPEX Terms.
b) Payout Processing
Redemption payouts are processed through Metagigs' designated payout provider, currently Payoneer. Metagigs does not impose a minimum redemption amount; however, Payoneer enforces its own withdrawal minimums and fees. Transaction fees charged by the payout provider are deducted from your payout amount — Metagigs does not assess any additional fees beyond those charged by the provider.
c) Redemption Frequency
You may not initiate a redemption more than once per calendar month.
d) Review
When you initiate a redemption, Metagigs will review your account activity to confirm that Earned Crowns were obtained in compliance with the Terms of Use. Clicking "Cash Out" (or equivalent) does not guarantee that you are eligible to receive a payout. Metagigs reserves the right to deny redemption if it determines that Crowns were earned through activities that violate the Terms of Use or the spirit of the MPEX Program.
5. Independent Contractor Status
MPEX participants are independent contractors and are not employees, agents, joint venturers, or partners of Metagigs. Nothing in these MPEX Terms or the Terms of Use creates an employment relationship between Metagigs and any MPEX participant. Metagigs does not provide employment benefits, insurance, workers' compensation, or any other benefits associated with employment to MPEX participants. See Section 7 of the Terms of Use for additional details.
6. Tax Obligations
a) Your Responsibility
You are solely responsible for reporting and paying all taxes on income earned through MPEX in your jurisdiction of residence, including but not limited to income tax, self-employment tax, value-added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST), and any other applicable taxes. You are responsible for maintaining your own financial records. MPEX payouts are processed based on Earned Crowns accumulated through your platform activity. For tax purposes, you are responsible for determining the appropriate classification of MPEX payouts in your jurisdiction of residence.
b) Tax Reporting by Metagigs
Metagigs and/or its payout provider may be required by law to report payment information to tax authorities. This includes:
- U.S. participants: IRS Form 1099-K reporting for participants who meet applicable reporting thresholds. Payoneer will collect IRS Form W-9 as a condition of receiving payouts. Payments to U.S. participants will be reported to the IRS.
- EU participants: DAC7 reporting for participants who meet applicable reporting thresholds (30+ transactions or €2,000+ in a calendar year).
- Non-U.S. participants: Payoneer will collect IRS Form W-8BEN as a condition of receiving payouts.
c) Withholding
Metagigs and/or its payout provider may be required by law to withhold taxes from your payouts. Any required withholding will be deducted from your payout amount.
d) Special Compliance Fees
Special transaction fees may be assessed during your first redemption (and periodically thereafter, if required by law) to account for compliance costs, which may include KYC, AML, fraud detection, and similar assurances. Any such fees will be clearly displayed before you initiate a redemption.
7. Ongoing Requirements
To maintain MPEX eligibility, you must:
a) Remain in full compliance with the Metagigs Terms of Use and Community Standards;
b) Cooperate with Metagigs and other users to resolve any disputes or issues involving Sessions or platform activity;
c) Keep your session offerings, profile, and content up to date and in compliance with Metagigs' latest requirements;
d) Assist Metagigs upon request with legal requirements, such as responding to intellectual property claims or removing content that has been accused of violating copyright or trademark laws.
8. Account Inactivity
If your Metagigs account has no authenticated sessions on the Platform for a continuous period of two and a half years or more, your MPEX eligibility may be placed under review. Metagigs will notify you before making any changes to your MPEX status and provide a reasonable opportunity to reactivate your participation. If you wish to rejoin MPEX after a period of inactivity, you may re-apply.
9. Program Changes
Metagigs may modify, amend, suspend, or discontinue the MPEX Program — including eligibility requirements, the exchange rate, and program policies — at any time by updating these MPEX Terms. Metagigs will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of material changes to active participants.
The existence of the MPEX Program does not create an obligation for Metagigs to continue the program indefinitely, nor does it guarantee that Earned Crowns can be exchanged in the future. Metagigs reserves the right to review activity on accounts to assess the validity of Earned Crown balances and to deny payment to any participant who has violated the Terms of Use or the spirit of the MPEX Program. However, Metagigs will honor valid, pending redemption requests submitted before a program change takes effect, provided those requests meet all eligibility requirements.
10. Country Restrictions
Metagigs may not be able to process payouts to certain countries, entities, or individuals due to legal, regulatory, or sanctions-related restrictions. We are currently able to make payments to MPEX participants in many countries. Please contact support@metagigs.gg to confirm whether payouts are available in your country.
11. Disclaimer
Building sustained platform activity as a Platform Professional is difficult and can take a lot of time and effort. Metagigs makes no promises that a Platform Professional will be successful in developing a large audience or that the time, effort, and expense spent on the Platform will be financially rewarding.
